Kottakkal Ayurveda Chitrakasavam
Kottakkal Ayurveda Chitrakasavam :
Chitrakasavam is a self generated alcoholic preparation. where the main ingredient is chitraka.
Its usage:
- In treating respiratory disorders.
- In gastric disorders.
- Also in Shwitra – leucoderma
- Kushta – skin diseases and anemia.
Dosage:
5-12ml with equal quantity of warm water twice daily. prefer milk during this treatment as chitrka is hot in nature or as directed by the physician.
Chitrakasavam Ingredients:
- Gomutra – cow urine
- Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica
- Vyosha – Trikatu – ginger, pepper and long pepper
- Kshaudra – honey
All these ingredients along with water is taken in a vessel smeared with ghee. Left for fermentation for 15 days, then the contents are filtered.
Usually distilled Cow urine is used in this medicine preparation.
